Omori North America originated as B.W. Cooney & Associates Inc., which was founded in 1987 by Brian and Wendy Cooney as a distributor of consumables and used or rebuilt machines for the packaging industry. In 1994, B.W. Cooney obtained the exclusive rights for the distribution of Omori equipment and parts in North America. The Company evolved into three operating divisions: Equipment, Parts & Service, and Consumables.
In 2012 Omori Machinery Co., Ltd. of Japan purchased a 50% interest in B.W. Cooney & Associates Inc. and the Company was renamed Omori North America Inc. The Company’s culture has always been steeped in a “service first” mentality and has consistently demonstrated creativity and initiative in adapting to the ever-changing packaging market demands. It continues to be fanatically focused on having a competitive advantage in niche markets, such as meat products and mushrooms, which it has established over the last three decades. In the summer of 2022, our founding members sold the remaining 50% ownership. Today, Omori North America is now wholly owned by Omori Japan.
